Steve Welch has been featured several times in "American Craft" magazine and has exhibited his work since 1987. His studio is currently at 142 High Street in Portland.
Using methods "similar to both stone masonry and quilt making," Steve creates works that evoke a sense of one's passage through - and presence in - physical space.
His work appears next in a group show at Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, debuting May 1st and running through June 13th.
